Sanctuary Golf Club, originally designed by George W. Cobb, was refined by Jeff Brauer in 2008. The course offers stunning landscapes with large rolling greens, beautiful vistas and tree-lined fairways designed and shaped from the natural angles of the region's low-country. Featuring a stunning 18 holes of play, the course uses strategic bunker placement and wonderfully defined fairways creating beauty and challenge on many holes. A walking, bird-watching and nature-lovers delight, Sanctuary accommodates golfers of all skill levels. The course is home to many tournaments and events throughout the year that incorporate the spirit of play in a natural setting.

The opening nine holes play 3,174 yards from the back tees and 2,348 yards from the front tees to a Par 35. The front nine consist of one long Par 5, six skillfully crafted Par 4's and two breathtaking back-to-back Par 3's. The inward 9 is 3,499 yards from the back tees and 2,626 from the front tees and presents a different experience with its wider fairways and tougher finishing holes. Each hole is designed to be a unique adventure.

Joe Matheny, Head Golf Professional and Class A Pro comes to us most recently from Sea Palms Golf and Resort in Brunswick, GA. Having spent 7 years in Georgia with his wife Kathy, son Justin and daughter Linda, Joe is happy to return to the Lowcountry. "I met my wife Kathy in Hilton Head and spent 13 years working in the golfing community there. Coming to Sanctuary is like coming home after a long absence." Brad Clayton, Master PGA Professional is now offering Weekend Learning Programs in Beaufort South Carolina out of Sanctuary Golf Club.

He also partners with The Sea Island Inn/Best Western {not your typical Best Western} and The Rhett House Inn {Beaufort's premiere Bed and Breakfast} for your lodging needs.

From the Motel and Bed and Breakfast it's a very short walk to downtown Beaufort and it's rich history. There is plenty of shopping available, sorry guys for suggesting that, but if you bring the wife, she will be happy! Downtown Beaufort also offers fantastic dining as well as a beautiful walk through the historic homes of Beaufort and along the Waterfront Park on the Beaufort River. Sunsets are breath taking and are no extra charge.

While Members at Sanctuary Golf Club have priority, outside play is accepted. The cost varies by season. Please call the Pro Shop for tee-times. Please remember we have a dress code. No jeans or cut-offs are permitted. Men must wear collared shirts.
